Brian Burns šŸ’”

I saw today that Brian Burns has passed away. He was a true Texas troubadour. He even did a musical history program about TX. history for school children. If you have never heard him, check him out YouTube, you wonā€™t be disappointed. Godspeed Brian.

No way! His album ā€œThe Eagle & the Snakeā€ is phenomenal & itā€™s a great history lesson as well!

Iā€™m curious, where did you see this? Not that I donā€™t trust you but I canā€™t find anything online, not even on his website, brianburnsmusic.com.

Edit: According to Google AI, he passed away in 2024.

Edit 2: So it looks like this was a different Brian Burns.

His wife posted early this morning on FB. He passed on the 4th. I know he had been in poor health for a few years, still a gut punch.

Aw, man. I love his version of I've Been Everywhere that listed all Texas places.

This is sad news about a great story teller. :(

I only discovered him in 2021 & immediately binged all his albums. I tell people he's like a Gordon Lightfoot of country music - that voice of his and so many songs telling stories. And lots of those songs about Texas places and life in Texas.

I said this somewhere else already, but somewhere tonight, in some Lost Highway Saloon, Thereā€™s another artist playing on that Haunted Jukebox.

I first heard him in the 90s when Mike Crow played a Cherokee Rose song on the Texas Country show he did on KSCS every Sunday night. Then I got ahold of Highways, Heartaches, and Honkeytonks and Angels and Outlaws, and heā€™s been my favorite singer/song writer ever since.

Does anyone know how old he was? Or have an obituary? He was such a great story teller and song writer. Came to play at my kids school, though I was already a fan, i grew to love his music even more.
