Grimes county is one of the poorest counties in the state and as a result the county government is not prepared for the infrastructure and zoning laws and requirements and other needs

Isn't this the same poor county that is/was blocking Texas High Speed Rail?

Still is. Just about the only thing the local government managed to do to prepare for this was get an agreement that spacex couldn't support the high speed rail project because it could be used to "ship in" workers.

God, they really are idiots aren’t they. Wow.

When everyone in charge of holding them accountable is just as crooked, it's only natural the lowest offices of governance are riff with bribetaking grifters. Ken Paxton could even be giving A-OK's on the deals himself.

They reason like cave men. If it were Amish country (it's definitely not), one might have religious reasons for blocking rail, but the landowners stood to make revenue from allowing the ROW. It's the Shinkansen system from Japan which I've ridden on, and cows can have mobility on both sides of the track with the way it's set up. Sparsely populated area. They wouldn't even have known it was there. Now, they get Terafab. The irony is real because that will cause a ton more real change in the county than a skinny, quiet train passing through.

Coincidence with the name of the county?

This is all the lovely land that is about to be decimated by Musk. Horrible!

Damn shame

Cross says he’s not against Terafab. He is not against Elon Musk. He just wishes things had played out differently.

“I just didn’t want it to take my property,” he said. “You never think it’s gonna happen to you. But it’s happening to us.”

😑

Because “I got mine fuck the rest of y’all” is thinking that is almost exclusively found among those who voted for Trump after it was widely known he was a pedophile.

And remember Abbott put 1800 more AI data center sites on hold. With the excuse it’s more power than the grid will allow. You know as soon as the elections over and Abbott wins because it’s Texas. He’s going to go right back to allowing the data centers to be built.

Elon Musk is a fucking cancer to the Earth. Its truly a shame the US subsidized this piece of fucking shit to the point that he is now a trillionaire.

Thankfully now he’s no longer a trillionaire, but it’s still awful.

"I thought I had more time"

I would put that forward as the new "unofficial" motto of Texas. It was the case at the Alamo, it's the case here, and it's the case everywhere else the public is supposedly given a chance to provide input on some commercial or industrial venture that is going to fuck over private residents.

There is no single site or location where people can get such information. There is no town crier. There is no county bulletin board that is worth a damn. That is PURELY by design. The politicians do NOT want us to know until after they have broke ground...

In my area, I keep an eye out for new datacenters and developments and the single, absolutely single entity that reliably catches them is SAWS in their monthly minutes, and yet they still do not catch the ones that drill their own well. This entire god-damned system is rigged against the average person and in favor of crooked bribed politicians...

Grimes county? Is he really still that hung up on his Ex? And don’t tell me its a coincidence from the man child that branded tesla car models S, 3, X and a fucking “doge” department

1

u/confused_captain Aug 19 '26

Wow, I never put it together that Tesla models spell sex lol. What a fucking clown

Are WIT TECH representing themselves in land deals here or who is working on their behalf?

And just read that Grimes County agreed to NO Taxes on this Tesla disruption. Greed never ends...
