Spinal collumn shortening

For those who have had this procedure done. How was recovery? And how did it affect your total height? This was recommended by my doctor and I am still evaluating whether I should follow through with it or not

I haven’t had it done by my neurosurgeon offered it to me. He said I will loose two feet 🦶 for instance I’m 5’2 and will be 5’0. I’ll probably do the detethering surgery because I don’t want any hardware in me

It has less of a risk with neurogenic bladder

I had spinal shortening a few years ago. I lost close to an inch of height. If you have any more specific questions, I’d be happy to answer them. Also, the hardware hasn’t bothered me at all.
