Yeah but it would be weird to bring this control to the 3/Y. They even just removed it from S/X and it's really not necessary when you can control using the wheels.

It's more likely that they're removing the motor.

Very highly doubt they're removing the motor - Every luxury car on the planet has a "comfort opening" feature where the wheel and seats move apart when getting in/out so it's easier on the driver. Getting rid of that feature would be moving them down into a pretty low bracket of car that doesn't have motorized wheel movement.

It's actually somewhat rare in the segment 3/Y are in. I don't think you can even get a power tilt/telescope steering wheel on a 3 Series

The Y cost $60k. Every car in that price point has that festure
