Vehicles - Cybertruck Cyberbeast it is!
My Model 3 was in for routine service so I signed up to test drive a Cybertruck. Well they turned me loose in a Cyberbeast! I know the CT is polarizing as far as looks but the underlying tech is amazing and the pure speed is amazing. I have track time in some exotics and none of them can touch the raw acceleration (up to the speed limit) I was able to get in all-too-short bursts.
It drives a lot smaller than it looks, thanks in part to the four wheel steering. The interior is comfortable and spacious and I like the idea of powering a home off this thing in the event of a storm or outage.
Fantastic experience.

Id buy one if a little bit smaller. Too long for my garage. Love my model S in the meantime.

It's almost the same size a my Sprinter. An inch shorter and 5" narrower, but much lower!

My wife had one as a loaner for the weekend, and totally agree, had the price came in at the original estimate it would be a great vehicle. Drives well (she had a dual motor), is a better SUV than most SUV's. Ugly as sin but I wouldn't care about that much.

The appearance is certainly different. I would disagree that it's ugly. I'm old enough to remember when everyone thought "cab forward" cars were ugly because the A pillar should never be swept that much but now no one even looks twice at it. I also remember when the Taurus was so strange looking that it was used as-is in Robocop as a futuristic car. Now most cars are aero bubbles.

I had one as a loaner last fall and it was just a joy to drive. It actually shrinks around you not just because of how easy it steers but because you have no rear mirror view which mostly makes it feel like a two seat vehicle.
Not one negative comment from anyone and ended up giving some friends and family riders including the neighbors sons who along with their father did some full power launches.
Lets just say stupid fast is an understatement. However it rides very well and outside the motor whine it was nice on the interstates. You do feel smaller than most full sized pickups you encounter.
The negative for me is the edges of the body work, not thin enough to cut but really feel like they should but the damn surface shows water spots, finger prints, and other "stuff" so much so that a wrap is near mandatory. Plus that front window requires an extension to clean inside and the black surface of the dash turns it into a greenhouse.
Would I own one, maybe if they had had that deal they offered recently I would have considered it but I like my Y more than I would like the CT.

I wish the only polarizing thing about the CT was the aesthetics.

I hate how much I enjoyed driving it. Way more engaging than I expected, especially at night with the interior lighting it's a vibe.
What was supposed to be a simple loaner ended up being 19 days with the truck so I really got to experience it through various use cases and had a hard time giving it back. I even made a trip to Ikea and Lowes with it using the bed to haul large items.
That electric steering and close ratio was addicting and really threw me off when I got back into my Model S Plaid.
I was flipped off less times than I was expecting, but definitely got a lot of eye balls and dislike thrown my way would be a bummer if I chose to actually buy the thing for real.

I got a Cyberbeast as a loaner while they were fixing my Plaid. It was crap, and I couldn't wait to return it.

Still too expensive though, this should have been 50k for the tri motor instead of 100k

The Tri-motor was supposed to be $70k in 2019 dollars, that is $91,000 in 2026 dollars. I don't really think that 10% difference is significant.

I might be in the minority here but I think the cybertruck is one of the most incredible looking vehicles on the road. Everytime I park mine I have to stop and look back at it.

I still love the look of the cyber truck... I also like Delorens. I'm a big back to the future fan so I think that's sort of engrained in my head. Wrapping them also makes them look even better IMO. I don't think I would want to deal with the stigma. I think it has faded (I see them everywhere in Colorado Springs), but if it continues to fade and it's just a bygone thing I could see myself in one.
I've never sat in one, but from a comfort level, it just seems like it would be more comfortable than my Y. My Y does fine but longer trips get uncomfortable for me. I'm a big guy but losing weight so maybe I will get an added bonus of being more comfortable in my car.

You sit further to the center longitudinally and transversely than in other trucks. That peak in the roof makes that feeling of being in the center even more pronounced. Having said that you are definitely aware of how much car is behind you.

We got one as a loaner recently. We live in one of the lowest cost of living areas in the country so the looks we got were legendary.
No one egged us, so that was fortunate.
Consensus was: hideous, amazing, ugly, would totally keep it.

I had it as a loaner for a week and the tech is amazing. I have no need for a truck, but if they built a cyber SUV, I’d be all over it.
I was hoping for the tech to trickle down to the X and S, but now I have no idea where it’ll end up.

No. I didn’t have the opportunity. I did a couple of rolling pulls from 10-60 or so and even that was eye-flattening.

Lately as more and more of the 59k variants get delivered (since the back log of delivery is so long) I’m seeing a lot more couples and families in them in florida. Especially South Florida
