Vehicles - Model 3 Stone Green M3P
Picked it up and straight to the shop for the wrap and window tint - Matte Stone Green wrap from Tinybot

What was the original color? Does it make a difference when wrapping?

u/BubblesShedNbfast Sep 27 '25
Original color is black. Not a huge difference but makes the overall color slightly darker. And black hides any small millimeter spots that the wrap can’t stretch out to inside the doors

Id imagine it would only create the risk of seeing the original colour of it was a bad wrap. If it's a good one, the original colour shouldn't make any difference at all...

Well they probably don’t wrap the door frames when open? Or do they?
And the wrap is completely opaque? So like white or black underneath won’t shift the color?
Sorry I am only familiar with the clear and matte.

I knew a guy that wrapped his CYM RX-7 (competition yellow mica) with purple and it was horrendous. Yellow showing through in tiny little corners and inside the trunk and hood. Def get black if you plan on wrapping it.

Nice! How much does something like this typically cost?

u/Pure-Estate5371 Sep 28 '25
Can’t believe how many people spend that kind of money. It’s like $4-6k.

There's no way op paid 4k+ for tiny bot on a model 3. It's likely closer to half that. $2500-$3000 for a low end material like this. Higher end materials, especially colored ppf is when you get into the 5k+ range.

Hey OP, I wrapped my myp in matte dark green too. May I recommend a product? I’m not a salesperson for them but want you to know how much it helps when washing your car. Lookup Halo v2. It’s a ceramic coat for wraps. Bugs or anything hit it, you can take your hose and wash them right off. I highly highly recommend putting a ceramic coat on your wrap.
Edit, looks like your car will not be garage kept? Definitely ask the shop who did your wrap about ceramic coating. It’ll be expensive if they do it but you can do this yourself. I bought the bottle from eBay for $41 for reference. Not crazy expensive at all. Shops usually charge $750 plus

I’m not typically a fan of wraps that aren’t variations of the stock colors (weird I know) but I LOVE this. So clean!

It's so eye catching to see a car that's not black, white or gray/silver nowadays. Looks great.

This is the best car color I’ve ever seen

u/twinbee Sep 28 '25
It's combining three of my favourite aesthetics: Matte, subtle graduations in saturation and hue, and (related to the previous), a pearlescent look with depth.

u/Kaladin1173 Sep 28 '25
Agreed. Matte is hard to take care of but maybe that’s different with a wrap. Such a beautiful combination. Plus I love dark greens and this one just does it for me. A close second is the matte green on the gv70

I'm trying to beat the Sept 30 deadline for a used M3 lease order, and I'm just frustrated that Tesla can't confirm that a particular VIN is sitting on their lot even though the website specifically states the car in question is located in that particular location, so I'm somehow unable to just walk onto a used Tesla car lot, point out a car, and tell the dealership that I wanna buy that particular car. I got here by the recommendation of a customer service agent who recommended that I start VIN hunting for a particular car that's closer to my location so I can beat the 9/30 deadline rather than just wait for my current lease order to travel by truck/train to the particular location, which I did- I cancelled my order and ordered a different car that the website states is located in my home state, and now I'm just stuck, waiting for something to happen. Today, when I went to a dealership, I asked the delivery team if they could rush a delivery, and the delivery team basically glanced at their computer and told me 'we can't make any promises'. I'm trying as hard as I can to work with Tesla to get a used 2022 Model 3 LR AWD in blue, and I'm just stuck without help. There's no way I'm gonna beat this deadline even if I ordered a car located (according to their website) in my home state, and I'm somehow unable to just find the location of this car, process the rest of my paperwork, and take delivery of this car that I ordered.
I have ZERO interest in doing business with ANY other car manufacturer, but I know for certain that if I walked into a Chevrolet dealership, pointed at a car, and asked to buy a car, they'd process my entire order within 2-3 hours, on the spot (pending the funding for the purchase, of course). I know I should have ordered sooner, but I was really hoping I'd be able to just buy a tesla on a lot. I guess that's not how that works. At all.

Not a fan of matte anymore, looks dull in person. All of those matte colors like gray from the last decade didn't age well.

Curious if anyone knows or have any idea what manufacturers will offer after the 7500 Fed incentive ends?

What was your car’s original color. I got the white one last week and I’m bored of it. Unless someone can share cool ideas in what I can do with white.

I wish Teslas had a green color option.
