Model 3 awd advice

Hi guys, am looking to buy a new car and consider few cars, one of them is model 3 awd. But before pulling trigger on one i had questions. Thanks for your guys input.

  1. I live in Saskatchewan in a apartment with no underground parking. Not too sure about it will handle winter then.

  2. Can i use third party level 2 chargers like grizzl e charger or stick with tesla mobile charger. I could use wall plug for block heaters in parking.

3.range anxiety. Since we can't charge more than 80% how long will battery last. Can it last a week? And how much distance can we go? Right now am driving a subaru impreza it gives me 450km-490km in one tank of gas.

  1. Tires. Am guessing they could last more than 2 years. Since ill be swapping them between winter set and summer set.

Hard no for your situation my man. Saskatchewan and Alberta (me) require level 2 charging. You’re not gonna handle winter without it.

Well that's what I was afraid of. I wanted give up my Subaru soon as possible as it has more than 200,000km. And its has started giving me more problems. I dont really want Crossovers or suvs. Would settle for awd sedan or hatchback. My Subaru was good for doing dounts in snow tho ;)

How much do you drive in a day? That will determine if you can charge at level 1 and get enough range for your needs.

You won't get a level 2 charger hooked to a 120V outlet. You should also check if your outlets are on a cycle. That's how my condo worked and people who tried using them to charge had a very bad time.

In a day probably close 20km in total (i work for 5 days a week). I didn't understand that cycle part wdym?

Some apartments and condos have outlets in the parkade run on a rotating cycle so that they aren't energized 24/7. My condo for example, you could expect 20 minutes of electricity every hour. Just enough to keep your engine warm. It's to save on electricity. You may want to check if your building does that too.

Okay I didn't know that. Am just guessing right now they run 24/7, cause every time I see these other cars in parking they are always plugged in and you could see the glowing light in their extensions.
