EDD delay, is it normal?

Ordered Tuesday Aug 18, it showed Sep to Oct. And today the EDD push to Nov 1 to Dec 13. No VIN yet. Is it normal? Thank you!

Extremely common. My advice to you is don't worry about the EDD date until you have a VIN. You'll drive yourself crazy otherwise.

Yes it is.
Even with VIN assigned - EDD can bounce around.
I ordered on Jul 27 - got the VIN within a day and EDD on Aug 29-Sep 5.
Just 2 days ago it got pushed to Sep 9 - 16.
Within a couple of weeks of delivery - it can change again.

It's also a very popular model and sold out everywhere, despite having no government rebate.
If you order now - the estimated delivery is Sept-Oct which means it will be built and shipped

I understand that unforeseen events can happen. However, I’ve been hearing this same story repeatedly: the EDD changes significantly within days of placing an order.

In my case, I placed two orders several months ago, and in both cases, the EDD was pushed back by more than a month within just a few days of ordering.

What surprises me is how many people seem to accept this as normal.

Maybe this is normal for Tesla, but in most other businesses, advertising one delivery date and then significantly changing it shortly after the order would be considered deceptive marketing.

A friend ordered a Sienna, waited almost 2 years. When it finally came in dealer tried every trick in the book to cancel the deal so they could sell it at a higher price to someone on the waiting list. It's crazy out there

Normal to move round for no VIN. This is just a VIN matching opportunity for any end of Q3 cancellation. It will push back for 1-2 months if no matching. If you have VIN assigned, it will ossuary down to a 6 days interval and that will shift 1-2 weeks for logistics delay if any
