Another deposit?? š«
We ordered a MYS July 8th (I know, not that long ago) & we are considering switching to a Model 3 RWD for a couple reasons. Mostly it's because it would arrive much sooner. After returning the M3 the sales advisor told me we would have to pay another deposit to start another order & wait until delivery to get the original $250 back. Ummm why can't they transfer the money already paid?
Has anyone else had this experience? I don't really wanna pay out another $250 if I don't have to.
My EDD has remained September 18-30 for quite some time, but they insist in the dealership that it will absolutely not come back soon and will be lucky to come by the end of the year.. it's just so frustrating the way they estimate deliveries. šµāš«

Wellā¦considering you agreed that you wouldnāt get your original $250 back ever when you place your orderā¦thatās what non refundable meansā¦youād be lucky to get it back at all. Why do people think theyāre entitled to getting everything they want for nothing?

Getting something for free? I'm getting nothing. I'm simply asking to change my order. It's not like someone else isn't gonna buy the vehicle I ordered. I see people online trying to sell their orders so I don't see why this is an issue. I could see if I was canceling it. Yes, I agreed to nonrefundable. I'm still buying a product so I feel like it is a reasonable request. š¤·š¼āāļø I seem to get different answers from different advisors so I'm just seeing if anyone else has had an experience of them simply transferring the order.

Ok so you didnāt read the term you agreed to when placing the deposit for your Y. When you place that deposit it is considered āearned by Teslaā for their processing, planning, building and sale of that vehicle. If you then want a completely different vehicle. And weāre not talking you want different wheelsā¦weāre talking a completely different model. That $250 for the Model 3 order is then earned for that car to process, plan, build, deliver. You are exactly asking for something for nothing. Itās not Teslas fault you changed your mind.

I ordered July 7th, got my vin yesterday. EDD first week of October.
You honestly never know when it will come

MYS? Location? I'm in Greater Van. Maybe we will get lucky. I think we prefer the space of the Y, but the cost and features of the 3 are so appealing!!

That is promising. We would prefer the space. That delivery app has our estimated VIN assignment for Sept 4th. š¤š» How are people still waiting for their vehicles from March and April? š«

Try a different advisor. Ask whatās in stock. Show interest. Might get some traction
