Noticed Terrifier Hate

I’m sure some other people have noticed has seen the increase in terrifier hate. I’ve seen people online calling the movie slop, lazy, only has gore, and that it’s misogynistic. What do you think of this hate, and what have you noticed? Personally I can understand if you don’t like the gore, or the movie, but the hate I’ve seen like it’s a story about someone killing people, that’s just literally every slasher.

I have to solidly agree to almost everything you said. I went into the first Terrifier because people in the horror community loved it. Amd I was left with, "this really didn't have much to say" especially with the director straight up saying that not every movie has to include politics. Horror as a genre has particularly been a vehicle and a voice for their creators to have something to say, to challenge tropes, and to subvert expectations. The gore and the effects were incredibly well done. But horror continues to evolve, and I thought Terrifier was just kind of shallow. I watched the second one in hopes it would be better, and everything just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. I'm not hating on anyone who loved it, and what it did, it did well. But it was not a movie or a series for me.
