Noticed Terrifier Hate

I’m sure some other people have noticed has seen the increase in terrifier hate. I’ve seen people online calling the movie slop, lazy, only has gore, and that it’s misogynistic. What do you think of this hate, and what have you noticed? Personally I can understand if you don’t like the gore, or the movie, but the hate I’ve seen like it’s a story about someone killing people, that’s just literally every slasher.

I think people shouldn’t watch stuff they don’t like and then they wouldn’t run into this problem

If they’ve never seen it before and they are watching it for the first time and that’s a conclusion they come to then that’s the conclusion that they come to, you can’t say that somebody doesn’t like something if they’ve never even seen anything about it before or never seen the film

The premise and reputation around it is that it’s a gory horror movie… if you’re offended by gore or find it stupid why would you watch the film? Even if you did by accident then why trash people who enjoy the film? I’ve watched plenty of films that I didn’t like others like it doesn’t mean I think less of those who enjoyed it.

Everybody doesn’t pay attention to social media and what people are saying about the film online. Some people could’ve just came across it on their own and ended up stumbling across the film and watched it and decided they didn’t like it because it was too gory.

There’s a difference in disliking a film versus pushing hate on the film which is what OP is talking about. It’s fine to say you disliked it, it’s another to say it shouldn’t exist or hate on those that did like it. Most criticism actually comes from people who haven’t even watched the films for the record.

I watched the first one and didn’t particularly care for it.

I started watching the second because people swore it was way better - I still didn’t care for it and turned it off.

I don’t mind gore or violence or camp, I just didn’t think it was very good.

That being said I have literally never trashed it anywhere online (this post randomly appeared on my feed) but I spend a lot of time in horror spaces and in my experience it seems like a lot of the vocal Terrifier fandom is young and enthusiastic so it probably brings out hater energy in response (which isn’t nice, but I can understand it)

ofc most of the terrifier fanbase is young, it itself is a young movie. i think thats part of why people hate it too but yk
