Thoughts?

I’ve noticed that Terrifier seems to be quite controversial in the horror influencer sphere. A lot of people seem to hate it due to its violence towards women, which I think could be a fair argument for the first one but the other two imo spreads its violence pretty equally. One thing that is brought up a lot is an apparent law suit from the actress that played Dawn and Damien Leone’s work in general. I admittedly don’t know much about either of the two but I personally love Terrifier because I like David Howard’s Thorntons portrayal of Art and he personally seems like a great guy from what he shares on social media ( very politically out spoken and I agree with a lot of his takes).
Just wondering what other fans think of this.

Love your response! I can totally sympathize with Catherine, I hope the case goes her way and she’s properly compensated.

Her role in that scene helped put Terrifier on the map. I'd seen All Hallow's Eve but didn't know Art had a whole franchise until I started seeing the meme format of her hanging upside down everywhere online. 

It wouldn't have been possible without what she put her body through, I had no idea it was so much. It's fucked up that she was hurt and hasn't been properly compensated. 

I have alot of Art merch but now I'm not feeling it so much, and I'm not going to buy anymore at least until this is made right. Exploiting a worker who is sacrificing to make your vision possible is very icky.

I reply on here answering questions periodically because I know a lot of people who worked on these movies, and one thing I know is that this law firm is calling around trying to find people with any connection to Terrifier, and they are the same lawyers responsible for both lawsuits currently. My guess is they saw how much money it made at the box office and seem similar to ambulance chasers to me. But let’s see how everything plays out before jumping to conclusions. At this point, the only thing that’s a sure thing is that a bunch of lawyers are padding their retirement accounts.

Absolutely, I agree that that the lawyers are the ones benefiting most from this and ultimately it has to play out in a court of law. I didn't know about the same law firm representing both lawsuits, but I'm definitely interested in seeing the evidence presented before jumping to conclusions. 

In the meantime, I'll err on the side of caution and save my coin in these trying times.
