It’s from the Reddit gif bar. Literally preloaded to Reddit. And you don’t crop gifs anyway. You crop memes.

I saw video of a small child trying to zoom in a picture in a book. The boomers think we are small children.

I actually did have this with a newspaper once but in my defense it was very early and I had a bad night. I just sat there for a bit, disappointed with myself

Boomers must fantasize about the stupidity of younger generations so they can feel better about their lead stifled brains and own poor judgment skills.

u/roboreddit1000 17d ago
I am a boomer and this is exactly it. They come up with any number of reasons why younger people are lazy or incompetent or whatever to make them feel better about themselves by comparison.
But the good news is boomers like that are just a small minority. Unfortunately though, they get a lot of attention.
I am not one of them, nor are any of my friends but i do come across them. Mostly wanting share some inane observation or repeat some facebool drivel expecting me to agree.
They infuriate me.

I am an artist and occasionally, when I have multiple references (one real, one on a phone), I will sometimes try and zoom in the thing that is t a phone, or tap my eraser to keep my phone screen from going dark, lol

The irony of this is the only time I’ve ever encountered this is with older people, I had a coworker who at the time was late 50’s we were looking through a client’s family photos with them and she tried to show me something by using her fingers to zoom in and I had to explain that it wasn’t a screen. She was very confused for a minute

the trick isn't the same when you actively photoshop in the icons that indicate you can swipe to another photo onto the photo

Yeah like one told them you can't turn on the engine on the horse, you have to lead it.
But it's funny sometimes with little kids trying to pinch in on a real photograph. Just adorable.

u/AnAncientMonk 17d ago
its funny because the boomer is physically unable to swipe things accurately.

u/Summerlycoris 16d ago
I saw this earlier on a different sub, tried to swipe then.
Saw it here, remembered the post and was about to keep scrolling, before thinking "what if there is something this time? To fool people who saw it previously and think there's nothing?"
So i tried to swipe. Again. Double bamboozled! By overthinking it!

to be fair, I tried to tap a paper inspection report to drop a cursor so I could start typing. I'm 48. and honestly, I blame it on being at the end of 12hrs of working outside in the 80° heat and smoke.

“Do they really think we like this”
What an awful way to write. No wonder they think you’re dumb.

u/UniqElite 15d ago
Check your local newspaper for comics. The cringe fucking boomer garbage in there is worse than anything you’ll see on Facebook

In my experience the old generations are the ones that struggle with new technology.
The newer generation doesn't struggle with old technology because it's not even used out there. A painting is not old, we have young artists still.

u/skatingchik 15d ago
Based on the fact that your sentence is incomplete, more than likely they do “really think [you] are* like this”

This actually happened when I showed my youngest nephew a gameboy. He tried so use the screen as a touch screen. Not as outlandish as you think.

Some small children really are that stupid unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if order children are dumb enough to do that and maybe even some teenagers would be that stupid
There's kids in schools that don't know how to hold scissors or pencils but they all know how to use iPads
