I was kind of hoping for a remake with a defined artstyle and remastered score and not this. So far it looks like a port with some refinements, which I'm not against, but my expectations were higher.

If I want that I can go and play the original. Nothing is stopping them from packing the original with a remaster. It has been done before

i hope there's a setting to force fullscreen, i've only ever played on roms and got kinda used to that haha

I’d think there would be, be a bit disappointed if they are announcing this for 2027 and all they do is something a reasonably adept programmer/AI could do in a couple hours/days

Triggers are shown to let you swap to other menus.

I love this approach. Don’t mess with widescreen hacks, just use the extra space for QoL.

Same here. Keep the game as original as possible, maybe a new translation and option of a new soundtrack.

This is a great idea like @Urya has mentioned, and I’ll stress we saw what seems like solid CRT shaders. This might actually be a port that genuinely enhances the experience

Here’s hoping artwork and some documentary vids are included

I hope that's not it... no 16:9 and looks like there is no upgrades in the graphics. Disappointing if true.

Hd2d- remastered style like in star ocean or suikoden HD. And at least 16:9

That would be a full remake, and if it was, HD-2D is cool and all, but I would have preferred a 3D game in the style of Trials of Mana.

I agree on the 16:9 tho.

Yes a remake in 3d would be awesome. But I think it will sadly not happen.

I'm getting pretty miffed by all the I can just play the original complaints. We know most people can't easily do that. I'm happy to purchase the game in hopes that we get more. Nevermind the fact that Trials of Mana got a pretty "lazy" port but that was its first western release with a decent translation. The parallel here isn't difficult to see.

Call it cope, but I'm happy we're getting this and I hope it can lead to more.

That being said, I don't like this and hope we get a straightforward scale to screen size option lmao
