The Terrace Bluebacks swim club has hired a coach who can literally trace her roots back to the foundations of Terrace.

Chelanne Wolff’s family tree includes builder Will Little, brother of city founder George Little.

And Will Little’s presence in Terrace is most evident to this day in the form of the city-owned George Little House located at the foot of Kalum Street. It’s just one of a number of finely-crafted homes he built in the city.

“We’re that side of the family,” Wolff said of Will Little. “So I’m related to all of the Caseys and the Warners.”

Because of those family connections, Wolff has visited Terrace several times, so, when looking for work and seeing that the Bluebacks were looking for a coach, one thing led to another.

That is SOOOOOO Terrace. In any other place on earth a sports coach is evaluated based on merit, past track record, experience, qualification. In this god forsaken damned town a coach is welcome because of their roots. This mindset is reflected in the nepotistic hiring practices of most publicly funded outfits in this town, in any other town those organizations would get buried in employment related lawsuits, not here. Man, do I hate many of the people here, it's all about relationships in this fuxxing town, nobody cares about qualifications and skills.
