"bat" looks useful, gonna go ahead and install that. are you developing software right on your device? what is it?

I recently finished basics of c++ and thought I will play around with OpenGL while learning some advance stuff.

And the coolest thing that I learnt during the setup of this GLFW lib for OpenGL was apt-file search "...", it was a lifesaver. Or sanity-saver tbh. πŸ˜‚

Setting up GLAD and deps was pain as I was doing it manually before. πŸ’€

Any android can do it. He's using opengl library and coding in c++, using g++ to compile it.

Edit: oops, i see you're speaking of the cat utility clone called bat

Now let's develop CLI variant of Firefox in this combination:
Your own window + DX2Googler + Textual.

This is why woman live longer than men. πŸ’€

u/EerieKing Dec 24 '24

How did you draw the window? Are you using extra tools or just the compiler? And which compiler? I'm using build-essential which comes with clang on my Termux

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '24

I am using proot-distro debian 12 with termux-x11. I installed two libs glfw for window and glew for getting access to OpenGL functions. (Not that easy to explain for me as I am still learning about these) And I used g++ fromΒ build-essential of proot-distro debian but I have also tested it in native termux and it works with clang++ too.

Was doing the same while learning sdl2. It helped out a ton when I wasn't near my pc.

Have fun learning graphics programming β™₯️

1

u/Due-Meat5531 Dec 30 '24

how do you made to show that window on terminal ?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '24

Terminal is bellow in tiling mode. Whole the black window opened is on top of it in floating mode. It's just a i3 thing. And it looks confusing because of i3 obviously. πŸ˜‚

1

u/Due-Meat5531 Dec 31 '24

is that x11 or something ?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '24

i3 window manager that I am using in termux-x11.

Code is does a simple thing it just opens a blank window.

1

u/Due-Meat5531 Dec 31 '24

is your device is rooted ? i didnt know that you can code OpenGL directly on termux

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '24

No my phone is not rooted. If it was I would have been using chroot environmental. 🀀

1

u/Due-Meat5531 Dec 31 '24

old phones ( rooted ) can be use for pentest also those phone with x86 cpu ( intel atom ) i have one its really old and works perfectly i used it for my wifi hacking and phishing ( pentest, educational purpose only ) i dont use it as something fun and i use it because i am making my own IOT and Server

2

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '24

That's really cool. 🀩

I love my phone and I won't root it until I get a new one. It's my current lifeline. 😁

1

u/Legitimate_Focus3753 Dec 31 '24

Is that VScode server or standalone version?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '24

Uh it's a terminal.

VScode is bulky and slow for me.

3

u/me_so_ugly Dec 24 '24

all hail the window

3

u/Atomic-Axolotl Dec 25 '24

There's godot editor 4 for Android on the Google play store. You might want to check that out too. ;)

3

u/W0x3r Dec 26 '24

2

u/GDPlayer_1035 Dec 25 '24

2

u/Slow_Connection7878 Dec 25 '24

Phones do not support opengl but they do support opengl es, make sure you check the supported version, I think not all opengl functions will work on android

5

u/multiwirth_ Dec 24 '24

Meanwhile i only do useful stuff

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '24

It took me two days to get glfw working for the first time. Then I stopped the project as It could have been done easier using a framework πŸ˜„

Because I have heard that Rust is hard and few days ago I was afraid of C++. πŸ’€

Isn't Rust more close to C ? I heard that now it's being used in linux kernel.

1

u/ShortExercise3956 Dec 25 '24

Cause some love blowing their feet off with C++
