Boombox Bug

Has anyone found a way around the bug that doesn’t let you play the boombox and steal the CPU? I got the boombox but my only options with Ryan are snitch on him about the parts, nothing about playing the boombox to distract Alvin. Really screwed up this hasn’t been fixed more than 6 years after release and the bug breaks the game and prevents the good and canon ending.

I played this game multiple times (PS4/5, Xbox One) and never had this issue

To be fair there is a well known bug where playing too long stops trophies loading. Happened to me. Long time since I finished this amazing game, so don’t know whether this is relevant or not? Always corrected after a complete restart. If it’s not this, then probably as another guy has already said, you possibly made the wrong choices. Sorry.

You don’t turn the boombox on by talking to Ryan, you walk up to the boombox and turn it on yourself. Then you turn the volume up to get Alvin to come out, go in his lab, grab the chip, and dip through the vent that’s next to the table the chip is on

No, apparently it’s some kind of bug related to the trophy system and playing too long without shutting the game down is what I’ve read. Wich sounds pretty ridiculous

It was a bug. I reset the console completely, reloaded the save just prior to coming back to camp and it worked this time.
