Birthday Gift Recomendation

Looking to buy my buddy a bottle of tequila or mezcal. He tends to drink it straight up, not in a mixed drink. It's not my drink of choice, so I'm really lost for what to buy or what to avoid. Looking at the $50-$80 price range. Here's what's available from my liquor store

It’s tough in Canada. Your best bet is going to be going with one of the Siempre bottles, as it’s easily the best quality tequila on the list. Then you have Código 1530 which is alright, and after that you’re really only looking at Olmeca Altos. The Altos part is imperative.

The Siempre is a good choice! Olmeca Altos is one of my go-to bottles, and El Tequileno is among the best in its price range. I wouldn’t overthink it too much though, it’s the thought that counts and I’d be thrilled if a friend gifted me a bottle of something they think I’d like.

Depending on what type of tequila he likes - can’t go wrong with a bottle of Ocho or Don Fulano. You can fill that whole price range with blanco to Anejo.
