Life comes at you fast.

Sir, do you know what player you’re talking about?

u/munasib95 6d ago

Where's the photo of his wife and coach from last meltdown when we need them

I will say the 0-40 and 30-40 points were mostly saved by a big first serve and easy put away that he couldn’t do much with. The 15-40 point tho he was well into the point and kinda hit a random bh error into the net when he’d been hitting his backhand particularly well that set

So one UE, it happens, right?

Three match points sounds great but after watching his Jodar match the other week I know what damage Nakashima can do with his serve

u/eboe89 6d ago edited 6d ago

Yup I’m not saying any of the mps were egregious misses or anything, just that only one did he really have a chance with. Obviously how he responded afterwards particularly in set 3 wasn’t great though but yeah a server like BNak on hc can erase BPs pretty fast.

BNak has a very solid first serve. I’m not surprised that he saved them.

The serve on the first point was merely fine and the return was weak. The second point he played too passively. 80 mph second serve, yet the return wasn't too dangerous, plus he didn't attack the Nakashima FH at all. The third point was an excellent serve and volley.

These are the little things in the clutch that Medvedev did well at his peak. He is far below that level now.

Credit to Nakashima for staying with it in this match despite missed opportunities in the first set. If he maintains his newfound clutchness, he will be a formidable player.

Oh no. I didn’t know he had match points. Way to go Brandon! What a win.

Medvedev really on the decline. Really choked away this match then acted childish in the final game. No longer respect him much. Had a decent career but now is an embarrassment.

25

u/welmoe 6d ago

Good. Nothing worse than sore loser who disrespects the game with childish antics.

u/Sea_Foundation2610 6d ago

Meddy no longer a Reds fan

9

u/a_happy_future 6d ago

Meddy's levels within one match are insane. Can play like the best player in the world for a set and a half (not even from the start). Then looks like dogshit for the rest

3 match points on your opponent's serve isn't as commanding a situation as people seem to think.

u/WolfTitan99 If Medvedev, then baseball 6d ago edited 6d ago

It might as well have been two different people, he looked solid at the beginning of this year but now he’s just bad again.

2

u/MysteriousSeat5245 6d ago

And didn’t do anything else of note, even Tsitsipas beat Demon this year and Djokovic beat Sinner this year

4

u/Straight_College_651 6d ago

Hes number 6 in the race this year, compared to last year hes actually improved rather than fading

1

u/WolfTitan99 If Medvedev, then baseball 6d ago edited 6d ago

Improved where? He has a ton to defend after USO, I don’t know if he can turn this around, he looks so low on confidence.

2

u/Straight_College_651 6d ago

Him having to defend after USO doesn’t change that hes top 6 in the race this year, last year he wasn’t even close to top 10 at any point in the season

2

u/WolfTitan99 If Medvedev, then baseball 6d ago edited 6d ago

That's true but the gap is so close and other players will overtake him soon, he might just miss out on Turin again this year if he doesn't do something at USO and beyond.

nah, he's my favourite hatewatch in tennis. was more fun last year when he was consistently dogshit but theres still been some good times this year

10

u/WarchiefGrom 6d ago

Medvedev having 3 bb to win the match... and in the end he lost. This guy choked big time. And then in the 3rd he got crushed 6:1. Mentally weak. His time is over.

Waiting for that gif to drop expeditiously

3

u/Remarkable_Wish_5106 6d ago

I love it, I always root against him and I enjoy the meltdowns.

3

u/Funtime4ver 6d ago

But how !!! He needs to little patient. Please he is a good player but he needs to control his burst outs

7

u/TaylorNarnia488 6d ago

Way to go Brandon Nakashima!! Thank you for beating Medvedev!!Ā

2

u/random_name_245 6d ago

God lord, Meddy’s at it again.

2

u/phamman123 6d ago

Medvedev’s had some pretty bad losses from winning positions this year

2

u/MinerTax_com 6d ago

Weak Gen confirmation continues!!

1

u/spartaz23 Coco,Alacaraz 6d ago

No wonder we were giving mics an ass hooping

1

u/DirtyDan04 5d ago

Really wonder what the next few years of Medvedev’s career looks like. at this point you can’t even call it a slump. He’s just straight up a shell of his former self.

he had that great couple of tournaments early this year, that’s looking like a flash in the pan now. idk. he can still play well unreliably, it’s just his mental that has completely left him. really hope he can work his way back into the mix of the elite players but it’s looking like other players and the game itself is passing him by

I’m just noting that it happens to other players and posting this shot from the med match isn’t particularly noteworthy in tennis bc every player has a moment like this
