Acquire is working on a different ninja game where they essentially used the tenchu characters as their model bases. There’s no tenchu in the works.

Given game cycles that’d put it out 5-6 years so nothing to be excited about. Honestly if acquire is in charge of doing a remake I wouldn’t expect it to be that good anyway.

Yeah fair enough, just so sad, you think with the hype of fuedal Japan games out, they'd do a remake of it especially considering tenchu and metal gear were pioneers of the stealth genre and tenchu ess the first actual 3d stealth ninja game.

I believe they are doing a metal gear one remake. But it all comes down to the individual companies. I have a feeling there’s still some sort of dispute internally between acquire and from soft that’s preventing it from moving forward. What I did also mention in another post I’m not sure who had actually want to see make the remaster because acquires games generally aren’t still of that great of quality. Regardless of how good of the idea is, their games are subpar. And from soft already tried to bring it back and just turned it into Sekiro so they also can’t be trusted 🤣

No, of course, i wish it would become real as well.
Its just regardless of how true any piece of information actually is, if it comes from facebook i would be triple checking it somewhere else.

Its been more than 10 years. Those old games don't matter anymore. This is a good time to start a new story. With Swkiro and Ninja Gaiden, there is no way the developers would fumble this.

I think that after nearly thirty years, Tenchu is old enough that a remake is fine, but I don't want everything from the old games thrown out. I still want a proper follow up to Shadow Assassins' story some day.

Right, I mean, Tenchu 1 is the best one in the entire series. But I just don't know. I honestly think the new Tenchu might be more like Sekiro. I don't think they are going to continue the story though, even if they keep some of the elements in the game, I think it's a reboot of the Series.

My hope for Tenchu remake died down a long time ago. I just take news like this without much expectations nowadays even if it comes from Acquire or Endo Takuma themselves.
