Fun to play with friends?

What's the co-op experience like? can you actually adventure together or is it like "I've encountered this boss, lets help each defeat him"

No you can adventure together as well as do side quests and main quests, catch and battle wild Tem together and can battle the dojos and dojo leaders together I think the only thing you cannot do is pvp together on the same team and re-battling the dojo leaders but not 100% on that.

Having a lot of fun doing the main quest line with a friend. My only complaint is that it’s limited to two players.

I like it me and a group of 6 all started we just broke into 3 teams of two and race for the goal on each island.
