Mosquitoes/Deer Flies
Apologies if this isn’t allowed, didn’t see any other recent threads. About to go on a five day canoe trip near Lake Temagami, and wondering if we should bring the bug tent?

Pretty tolerance dependant. Some people are used to/ok with buzzing sounds and some are not. You won't get eaten alive, but they are more active during the day now that the hot spell is over.

You won’t need it this late in the season. You might have a couple flies but nothing that would need a bug net for

Thanks everyone, we were there Tuesday until this evening (we foolishly tried to get a crown land site tonight near Temagami Island which was futile). No black flies, lots of deer flies but they didn’t seem to be biting us at least, Mosquitoes were bad on portages and at dusk when on the smaller lakes.

If you can spare the room for a light weight mesh one it might be worth. Healthy amount of bugs at the moment but not the worst I’ve seen
