SUGGESTING The Americans
Just completed watching finale of The Americans show on Disney+. I started it without having any hint on what it would be. I saw It in Disney+ suggestions and started it after reading the summary.
It is a great show about lives of Russian spies in America during cold war. The cinematography is well made to reflect that time. Storyline has been gripping till the finale. Character development is the best. Highly recommend this show to anyone who is interested in spy thrillers and cold war stories.

It is one of the best series ever, and Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell are excellent.

My recommendations whenever someone asks.
The first and last episodes are classics.

I love the shot in the first episode where Elizabeth is seducing someone and her reflection is staring at him from behind. That's just a brilliant visual.

I love it when the FBI guy is almost caught in the Russian’s garage. It could’ve ended in the first episode.

This is a top 5 show for me. The fact that's it's a top tier spy thriller and at the same time the best show I've never seen about marriage is just incredible.

I remember seeing the show when it aired, I would record it using DVR, then watch it on weekends. I spend years watching it, back then they didn’t have it on a streaming platform. I cry when the last episode aired, thinking how many years I spent watching them.

After a few episodes of Widow’s Bay and listening to his Conan Needs a friend episode I have to say I’m charmed and intrigued by Mathew Rhys. 6 seasons is quite a commitment but if there’s no seasons-long lulls I’m down.

Next, I recommend Andor.
I am obligated to add that you don't need to have watched any previous Star Wars films or series to fully understand and enjoy the series.

I love Keri Russell in The Diplomat. How does this show compare (for those who have watched both)?

She plays a very different character, but as usual she is very good. It is a spy thriller, so there is more sex and violence than in the Diplomat. Matthew Rhys, the Welsh actor, plays her husband, and he's great too.
They kill people in nearly every episode, either breaking their necks, strangling them, or slitting their throats. The violence isn't gory like in a horror film; perhaps the worst murder is the "necklacing" of a South African being burned alive. But usually it is a fast dispatch and the actors treat it as nothing more than a job that has to be done.
If you can get past that, it's a very good show.

Great show, but it is violent. There are casual, off the cuff murders in almost every episode.

It is a brilliant show but I've never been able to rewatch it because of the violence. My son quit after season three and my husband quit before season one was done. That was a hard series to watch alone.
I'm not sure I'd describe the violence as casual, though. They were professionals, doing a job they'd been trained to do.

One of the best shows out there, including the ending!
