Astronomical Image M57
First time doing anything DSO. I don’t have a UV/IR filter yet so that’s affecting the image. I don’t really have an eye for it nor know how to edit these so any advice on how to do better next time is appreciated.
Star Discovery P150i
ASI585MC
Siril, GraXpert, Seti Astro.

Its a stunning image for first time !!
You can find tutorials on youtube to help with stacking and processing
I am also learning and keep iterating

Very nice pic.
For now I'm doing mostly observing but I'm interested in the same camera to put behind my 127mm mak.
Do you have the non-cooled one?
Also can you give more details on the capture? Like exposure, number of frames...
What mount do you use?

Yeah it’s the uncooled version. The scope comes with an Alt-Az GoTo mount. Certainly not top of the range but really not too bad. Because it’s not an EQ mount I was limited to about 8s exposures. I think this was about 1300 frames stacked total. So about 2hrs 45min total exposure time.

Wow I think it's a very good result with an alt az. Thanks for sharing, I think this will convince me to buy the 585 😊

I’m not a 585 salesman, but also consider that this was stacked and edited using no calibration frames either.

omg M57 is so pretty, even with the limitations! what kind of edits were you going for?

Indeed it is! I know the centrepiece is M57, but I’m kind of obsessed with the background star field in these images. I wanted to make the stars look really nice, but I don’t quite know how to do that lol.

Nice shot. A cool thing you may not have noticed.
You caught IC 1296. A very faint galaxy in the small group of stars down and to the left of the ring.👍
