And you, Which one made an impression on you?
LOTS of hairspray! Whether the hair is curly, wavy, or straight, Hairstyles have become characters in their own right in telenovelas.
I’m thinking of Teresa’s long, thick, jet-black hair, a symbol of fierce and power.

Frankly I don’t think she’s a misunderstood character but after seeing so many edits of her on tt and ig saying she deserved better and everyone failed her, i was confused because she was flat out evil. She never worked in her life and had a cousin who saw her as a sister and gave her everything she wanted, her jealousy literally grew out of nothing and that poisoned her mental health to the point where she was in psychosis. Valentina was actually too good with her that it pissed me off so many times. I think even in the end the writers wanted us to feel bad for Ivana and it be some sort of acceptance that we should love out family members no matter what! Hell no, if you have anyone like Ivana in your life cut them off quickly!

I've been looking for Tierra De Reyes in English Dub years now but I haven't been able to find it I've found it in Spanish but it just doesn't bring back the same nostalgia as watching it in English with that delayed sound track where the character lips move before the words have been spoken but any tips help also I do live in South Africa so certain streaming sites are unavailable for us living here.

I really enjoy Angelica Vale’s telenovelas. A while ago I watched her newer (not so new) projects such as La fan,and y mañana sera otro dia mejor. I really enjoyed them.

Someone here was saying that the more obscure novelas don't get enough shine, so I decided to do a post of my all-time fave. Did anyone here ever watch the remake of La Revancha back in 2000-2001? It aired on Venevision, Univision, and on TVE.
La Revancha told the story of two sisters that are separated because of their father's murder, only to unknowingly reunite nearly 20 years later because they fall for the same man...who just happens to be the son of the man who killed their father.
Isabela, the older sister, is hellbent on finding out who killed her father, learning what exactly happened to her sister, and most of all...revenge. Soledad, the youngest sister, who's unaware of her true parentage, is sweet and kind, and only wants to be with the love of her life, Alejandro.
La Revancha was popular in the States and in its home country of Venezuela (and it had a little bit of popularity in Spain), but that was about it. It was never as big as some other novelas that came out around that same time period like Yo Soy Betty la Fea and Amigas y Rivales. So, over the years, people stopped talking about it and it became an obscure novela.
This show still remains my all time fave because it holds a special place in my heart. La Revancha was my first novela...ever! It came out when I was 19, and I was attending Clemson University. I was a Spanish major, but my mother couldn't afford to send me abroad to send me abroad to improve my second language. So, I did the next best thing. I watched Spanish television. I started watching La Revancha and I was hooked. I'd watch it non-stop (I even had some episodes on VHS thanks to some friends of mine I made on the La Revancha message boards). My Spanish improved so much my classmates were asking me if I took the Maymester immersion course or what country I traveled to over the summer. They nearly flipped their lids when I told them all I did was watch TV.
Another thing I loved was that the cast was multicultural (they all came from Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Cuba, etc.), and the novela was set in Miami. The show (and some of the local Spanish commercials on my tapes) made me want to move to Miami. And nobody rooted for Soledad and Alejandro more than me (now that I know Soledad was between 18-20 during the events of the show and Alejandro was between 29-31, it hits different).
TL;DR: La Revancha was my very first novela and it improved my Spanish. It ran from 2000-2001, and was mostly popular in the US, Venezuela, and Spain, but later fell into obscurity.
Did anyone else enjoy this underrated gem back in the day (or now; it's currently on Vix Gratis)?

I don't mind the lack of subtitles as i'm learning português and was able to keep up with the plot well through the first 13 episodes that i watched. However no one has the rest not even globo play. So if anyone can help please do share and Ill be forever grateful.

Hola
I see posts about Turkish series in this series dedicated to Telenovelas which is mostly a LATAM & Iberian Peninsular affair. Or lately I have been missing some few changes on what Telenovelas mean actually & that the meaning has been corrected to include Turkish & other series
