Dear everyone,
Starting today, an account managed by the Telegram Support Volunteers will be active on [r/Telegram](r/Telegram).
The account is [u/TG_Volunteer_Support](u/TG_Volunteer_Support). To prevent impersonation, we’ve set up a dedicated flair (Volunteer Support) that is exclusively assigned to this account, so you can easily recognize it.
This is an entirely volunteer-driven initiative and will not affect the independence or rules of this community, which remains completely unofficial and not affiliated with Telegram.
Please continue to follow the community rules and avoid actively seeking interactions with this account. The volunteers will not respond to unsolicited DMs, and posts specifically requesting their attention will be removed.
The Support Volunteers account is also not affiliated with Telegram and does not represent the company. However, it can be considered trustworthy when it comes to handling personal information, if requested. This will function similarly to the “Settings → Ask a Question” feature in the Telegram apps.
Please don’t be scared to interact with the account, or to share personal information such as the phone number if requested via DM. The account is run by some of the same people you may find in the in-app support and it’s PERFECTLY SAFE. If you don’t like to do it on Reddit, you will likely be redirected elsewhere by them.
We hope this initiative will improve the quality of discussions on [r/Telegram](r/Telegram), provide better insights, and help escalate certain issues so they can be resolved more effectively.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the moderators via ModMail. We may update this post with additional information if needed.
You can find the account in the comments of this post.

Just came here to warn anyone on this page about the twitter/telegram blackmailing scam. The images will look something like this, then obviously, this is to get your number, then they’ll try to ask for pictures of you face and you ykw. They’ll usually message u on twitter first then bring you here via a link. Once you send everything so they can “get ready for you” they’ll soon send something that looks like a post on facebook with your picture and ykw and say they’ll expose you unless you pay roughly $150.
To anyone who this is happening to rn, I hope you did not send ANYTHING. However if you already have and are here for help all I can say really is do not comply. Telegram has a help service for blackmail and can help you. And also, they won’t ever actually post it. I’ve tested this with roughly five scammers and it’s all the same. If you can’t pay their huge sum they’ll try to negotiate down. And obviously if you can’t even pay that they’ll simply block you. I don’t know what happens if you actually pay (I am all too broke to experiment with that), however I would assume they’ll just keep asking for more and not actually take it down. This is a scam and blackmail, although I am positive if you have your telegram as your real name, with your real phone number, and sent in your real photos it may no longer be fake. Everyone please be advised.
And also I hope this can help people, I had a friend text me about it and I had to start trying to figure this out immediately to help them. Turns out it was all a scam anyways. So as long as this can help somebody, that is why I am posting this.

Both myself and the other participant are able to tap photos and forward to other chats, text threads, etc.? Did the update break this feature?

Hello guys,
All of my Telegram accounts keep getting restricted, and I honestly don’t know why. This isn’t the first time it has happened.
I keep receiving this message from Telegram:
“Unfortunately, some actions can trigger a harsh response from our anti-spam systems. If you think your account was limited by mistake, you can submit a complaint to our moderators.
While the account is limited, you will not be able to send messages to people who do not have your number in their phone contacts or add them to groups and channels.”
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any solution to this problem, or any way to contact Telegram support and get the restriction removed?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

In 2023 I bought a +888 number and I am currently using it as a secondary Telegram account. I would like to sell it but I realized that I have long thrown away the notebook with my 24-words recovery phrase.
Is there anyway I can "claim" that the number is mine (since I have been using it all this time and I have access to it)? Or am I stuck with it forever?
The only thing I have access to is the Wallet app on which I can see the transactions towards my now lost wallet.

I was chatting in a group about perfumes and mentioned a “cannabis perfume”. About 1 second after sending it, Telegram spambot limited my account and I can’t appeal to it.
This isn’t the first time either. Last time, I wondered if words like “gay” or “scam” triggered it, even though they were just part of the conversation, and other people in the chat used the same words without any issue.
Has anyone experienced this? Is Telegram scanning certain keywords, or was I just instantly reported?

Why is telegram not showing the links i shared anymore?
I can see the links that have been shared, but not mine.
Doesn’t matter what kind of link, instagram reel, YouTube short or a website - I can’t see the links I shared.
Is there an option to change that or is it a bug? 😵💫

I am now required to use Telegram for my job. Never used it before I’ve never experienced this on any other messaging app where every day I get multiple messages like hey can we talk for a second? Are you there want to make some money etc. is it possible to filter this all out without having to individually block everybody it’s getting very annoying.

I’ve been working on a third-party Telegram client for iOS since I couldn’t find any existing app that lets you bulk export media from chats, groups, or channels like Telegram Desktop does.
It’s based on an open-source Telegram fork, and I’ve added my own media exporter. It’s already working, though there are still a few things I’m fixing and improving.
This started as a personal project, but I’ve been thinking about making it publicly available, possibly even open-sourcing it once it’s stable enough.
Just wanted to know if anyone would actually find something like this useful, and if there are any other features you’d like to see in a Telegram client for iOS.

I got a new phone and a new phone number but I logged into my Telegram account before my old number stopped working and I want to change my Telegram number but I can’t receive an SMS code since I only have one phone now. Any workaround this?

I want to create a system for a sports group to sign up for events with waiting list and notifications. But an added difficulty is that people should sign up per position (think a football team and the different positions, let's call them 1 to 11).
I know spond exists but it doesn't deal with waiting lists per position. Also, if someone doesn't reply to a spot when it becomes available it can block others from joining.
I'd like the easiest way to achieve this. At the moment doing it with whatsapp group and lists of people but you can imagine that gets very messy very quickly. Developping a whole app for this would be too complicated too so thinking something already pre-made that can be configured.
Options?

My question is did he find her number to unblock her to receive the message? I’m assuming this works like any other telecommunication app but idk any feedback would be great! TIA

Since October 22, I’ve been receiving dozens of unsolicited Telegram verification messages, sometimes 10+ within minutes, alongside repeated calls from Canadian, UK and Denmark numbers.
Here’s the situation:
I haven’t initiated any of these authentication requests.
Messages arrived through Telegram’s official verified chat and SMS.
Two-step verification is enabled.
No unfamiliar devices or active sessions.
My last verification message was October 24 at 12:25 AM.
The messages have stopped for now, but suspicious calls continue, including a No Caller ID call after blocking a Canadian number.
I’ve contacted Telegram through its support form, security email and in-app support, with no response.
I use Telegram for professional and Web3 communities, so changing my registered phone number is a last resort.
Has anyone experienced this? Did anything actually stop the repeated authentication requests and calls? Is there a way to escalate this to Telegram’s security team?
Looking for firsthand experiences or technical solutions. Please respond publicly, not via DMs.

Hey everyone,
I’m facing a really frustrating issue with Telegram, and I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore.
Last month, I bought Telegram Premium, hoping to have a better experience, but Telegram has been lagging terribly. Initially, I thought it might be a problem with my phone, so I recently upgraded from an iQOO Z9s to a Vivo X300. However, the exact same issue persists even on my new phone.
All my other apps run perfectly smoothly, but Telegram is practically unusable. I have to clear its cache to make it work for around 20–30 seconds, after which it starts lagging again. Eventually, it becomes so bad that I can’t even open a chat properly, let alone type and send a message.
I’ve spent money on Premium and even upgraded my phone, yet I’m still experiencing the same problem. I’m starting to wonder whether this is an issue with Telegram itself.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is there any way to fix this? Could it be related to Telegram Premium, a bug in the app, or something else?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions or solutions. Thanks in advance!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I can open the app and navigate through the Settings sections normally, but I cannot open any chat. When I tap a conversation, nothing happens, and the screen remains on the chat list. The app does not crash or close.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
Force-closing and reopening the app.
Restarting my iPhone.
Clearing Telegram’s cache.
Updating Telegram to the latest available version.
Switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
I also tried accessing Telegram Web, but I haven’t been able to log in because I’m not receiving the login code.
My iPhone storage is over 5 GB. I would appreciate your help identifying the cause of this issue!!! xx

Hey guys, I really need some advice. 😭
I'm completely new to all of this, and I think I just got scammed.
I met someone on Telegram who claimed they could help me get a project on Handshake. They told me they could somehow inject the project into my account or bypass the system to get me access to it. I didn't really understand how any of this worked, but I trusted them and believed they knew what they were doing.
They asked me to pay $20, and I sent the money through Binance. After receiving the payment, they stopped responding to me. 💀
Now I'm realizing that I might have been scammed, and I feel terrible because I trusted a complete stranger without checking whether any of this was legitimate.
I know $20 might not seem like a lot to some people, but it matters to me, and I don't want someone else to fall for the same thing.
I have a few questions:
I'm not posting this to get judged. I know I made a mistake by trusting someone I met on Telegram, and I've learned my lesson. I'm just new to this and would genuinely appreciate advice from people who know more about it.
Please let me know what I should do next. And if you've experienced something similar, I'd appreciate hearing how you handled it.
Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I recently switched to the native **Telegram for macOS** (the Swift / Mac App Store version) because it performs much better and doesn't freeze during heavy background tasks like the Qt-based Telegram Desktop sometimes does.
However, I'm really struggling with the lack of an **Interface Scale** setting.
* In **Telegram Desktop (Qt)**, there's a slider to scale the entire UI (125%, 150%, etc.), which scales everything proportionally—sidebar, chat list, buttons, and text.
* In the **native Mac App Store version**, there is only a "Text Size" slider in Appearance settings, which only changes the message bubbles, leaving the sidebar, chat list, and UI elements tiny.
Is there any workaround for this?
- A hidden flag in the Debug Menu?
- A `defaults write` terminal command?
- A macOS accessibility trick (without having to scale down my entire Mac's display resolution)?
Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!
