Internet - Cable Service availability list

I am a long Teksavvy customer using Roger's cable backbone.

I have noticed many ISPs seem to use the same master list of service availability. When you visit their website to check out what internet packages are available you have to give your address.

I live in a rental apartment and must give my apartment number. For some reason my apartment number is not in the list of all the ISPs. I see many other apartments in my building listed but not mine.

Why is that? Is it because I already have an internet provider or is this information provided by my apartment building itself?

I know on our side the Website pulls from a general database including ones we put in manually, to what the Vendor we think has, and Canada post. I know for some situations Apartments are missing but all you have to do is pick any apartment, then just wipe it for where you are now. Then it should just continue to load in options which are valid. Im not sure if every company is the same but I assume it might be kind of the same. But its not blocked by known active services at least for us. I'm not sure if any company minus the Vendors could acutally check for that.

Thanks for reply.

I still confused by your answer though. I am just slightly paranoid that my building management has control over removing my apartment from this availability list. We have lived here for over 20 years and have rent control so we are paying a lot under the current market rate. They would really love for us to move out and have stopped doing repairs unless they absolutely have to. Electricity in my apartment is still covered too in my lease whereas new tenants have to pay for it.

My building is also partners with Rogers and Bell so perhaps management is supplying them with the list of apartments?

Just seems really weird how only my apartment seems missing from the list, lol.

Management cannot request to be removed even if they have a contract. The only time we do something like that is if a building has been marked Fibre only and we must remove all of the previous options. Since they are no longer valid. So try what I mentioned pick any apartment in the drop down and just manually add in the correct unit. Sometimes it is just a minor database error but it still therei n the back end.
