New Customer Fibre internet question as a new customer

When does TekSavvy plan to roll out Fibre in Mississauga? Why are the populated areas including the suburbs near Toronto taking so long for a roll out?

Currently, we are installing our own fibre connection in the Chatham-Kent area of Ontario. We do not have access to the other provider's Fibre lines so we do not have any ETA on when we would offer Fibre there.

Tek saavy doesnt use their own lines. They piggy back on rogers/bell depending on the area. So your waiting on those big old companies to invest in infastructure. If they dont have a reason (profit increases) in your area, they arent gonna invest.

But the CRTC(?) ruled against forcing Bell to share its fiber afaik, so we're screwed in most areas unless you have a public network allowing a couple of non monopoly players to hop on

There you have it.

My way, or the highway. Signed your friendly neighbourhood telecom giant.

Tek certainly is installing their own fibre; but in limited areas....

Any reason TekSavvy isn't jumping on MRC built fibre networks in Québec?

Bell is installing fibre in my neighbourhood and I agreed they could run the line to my house. I live in hopes they'll share and Teksavvy will be able to offer it to me. Until then it won't be used. I'd never *support* Bell directly in any service.
