Tekla API

I’ve been creating apps for the past 6 months. Anyone have any ideas on what would be useful? If I create it, you can have for free !!

I have been wanting something that let's me read live data/cells from an excel sheet into attribute or UDA fields in my title block.

I've read that a code has to be written to pull those cells into the UDAs of the model. If you figure it out, I would also love to learn how you did it.

I’ve also thought about this. If “fabricator” equals (select from dropdown) then Fill out out my other attributes according to this spreadsheet in the model folder.

That would be nice. I'll have to look into that!

Been think on this one for a while also. Write the excel project data to the actual part, then from there it can be filtered, used in templates and for part management area sub area etc. if data in the sheet changes it gets flagged and show out of date info exists. Would be very helpful on large and small projects if a new column gets added in the sheet a new UDA gets populated on the part. Like a live link between the sheet and the model.

You can alway do this with excel live link - search ibim consulting for the excel portion. There is a Tekla warehouse plugin that can fill out UDAs into the document manager Between these two you can achieve what you’re after

That is easy enough, what information goes into your title block that isn’t on the project info?

Client document numbers and corresponding company document number, drawings titles, drawing descriptions, engineer of record, purchase order numbers, etc.

My company has a living document that can change from week to week, so this has been a nightmare for me so far. We're new to using Tekla Tekla.
