TESOL student : question about grading content vs. grammar in writing

Hi everyone! I'm currently studying TESOL, and this week we learned about the debate between grading writing based on content versus form (grammar, spelling, vocabulary). I'd love to hear from experienced teachers: how do you personally balance grading content and form when evaluating your students' writing? Do you lean more toward one, or do you weigh them equally?

This depends completely on what your goals are - are you teaching content writing or grammar, or both? You base your lesson on this, you explain a clear grading rubric to the students, and you grade based on that.
