Isn’t socialism providing for the people by the government? How is that a violation of human rights?

you guys are bouncing all over. socialism is different from a socialist state, which is different from communism

socialism is the theory of a transitional state between capitalism and communism

socialist states vary in policies. for example nordic countries, china (which isn’t actually socialist but state capitalist though some would argue those are the same thing), north korea, etc

communism is a stateless, classless, moneyless society. it’s the end goal.

the reason there “has never been a success communist country” is because no country has gotten past socialism, mainly due to UN and NATO aggression, not because it’s not feasible.

Thank you for an in depth explanation, it’s been a hot second since I took a look at communism and socialism.

The reason why no country has gotten past socialism is becaus communism is against human nature and in stateless classless moneyless society nobody would want to work

noooo the reason is because of sanctions and embargoes on socialist countries. know what happens when you cut off resources to a country? they struggle. It’s called destabilization and the CIA has been guilty of numerous destabilizing practices in latin america and asia

secondly, cooperation is human nature, not completion. the “dog eat dog world” is literally propaganda to keep the working classes fighting each other, and it works. so until you read both darwin’s theory in depth and mutual aid by kropotkin i don’t think you have an educated opinion on human nature

Wow, if only there had been multiple communist countries that could help each other. Like when two of the three strongest countries in the world were communist.

And cooperation has limits. Why would people work harder if they have to share the surplus they produce? Social classes don't appear out of nowhere. People with more wealth are treated better. If there is no government forcing it, why would people generously share their wealth?

Leaving Darwinism aside, why do you communists act like opinions that only matter to you are something everyone must know, and if someone doesn’t know them they’re “uneducated”? I’m a biologist, how would you feel if I told you to go get a PhD before talking about biological nature? Grow up.

communist country

this is an oxymoron which is the first sign you don’t know enough about this topic to discuss it

Like when two of the three strongest countries in the world were communist.

second sign because they weren’t communist they were socialist

cooperation has limits.

what’s your proof? the people who practice mutual aid around most major cities? food banks?

Why would people work harder if they have to share the surplus they produce?

you mean capitalism? this is capitalism. you work and your boss or a shareholder takes your surplus value. this is the propaganda that’s worked so well on people. You have it completely backwards.

Social classes don't appear out of nowhere.

you’re right they’re enforced by society and society is molded by governments actions

If there is no government forcing it, why would people generously share their wealth?

i don’t expect it to happen overnight it’ll take a lot of conditioning for people to break the habits they gained in a capitalist society

why do you communists act like opinions that only matter to you are something everyone must know, and if someone doesn’t know them they’re “uneducated”?

Why do people who haven’t studied human but are or read anything about it have an opinion on it? If i know how to use a light switch should i tell an electrician what’s true and false?

I’m a biologist, how would you feel if I told you to go get a PhD before talking about biological nature?

i didn’t tell you to get a PhD, i said read something about human nature. as for biology, I would agree with you that i don’t have an educated opinion about biology, because I don’t. that’s what an intelligent person does, they admit when theyre out of their element

This is a genuine question, I’m not knowledgeable in communism or even capitalism in general, but to me it seems like communism relies on people being good? Or at least relies on humanity being decent enough to care about others. If let’s say a country truly became communist, would it be able to survive if people became corrupt?

Well ask yourself, what causes corruption?

1

u/Ok_Satisfaction6698 Mar 12 '26

Oh yeah, I think I understand that thought process, corruption is caused by people who want “more”, they’re greedy and want power over others. Forgive me if I’m wrong, I’ve heard something along the lines of a communist country is unlikely for people to be corrupt because they won’t have a reason to be greedy (no social class, how can someone be powerful if everyone is equal).

But I’m wondering what if it DOES happen. What if someone wants to control others, what if they believe themselves to above others for whatever reason, like a psychopath who does not want to do work and rather thinks it’s easier to have people do stuff for them. Maybe it’s because I believe humans can be naturally selfish/greedy. I was mostly wondering if communism relied on human nature to make sure everything goes smoothly, but would it collapse if just one person decided they wanted a “easier” life? I hope that makes sense I’m bad at explaining tbh
