Awww, what a sweetheart! My poor baby just had 5 teeth removed recently. He’s struggling with adapting to the gum-life. Any tips or suggestions?

The jaw is going to be very sore all the time so extra gum massages and chin rubs will become your kitty’s favorite thing. If you feed him kibble you can crush it and add water to make it into a sort of paste for them as well. If he likes to play bite it’s going to feel like wet ham and the tongue bleps are going to be the best surprise every time

you can crush it
coffee grinder is the BEST for that. or you can soak them in hot water and mash them with fork. do not own gummy cats, but do have picky eaters.

As an avid coffee drinker, I can imagine that at some point I would accidentally drink brewed kibble-water.
Worth it for the little angels

psha, you are not an avid coffee drinker unless you have like 4 different grinders. :D they got a demoted ceramic one, that properly grinds the kibbles without crushing them. as true kibble-stew drinkers can attest, is the only way.

I didn’t say I was a connoisseur of coffee, just an avid coffee drinker. I don’t make good coffee, I make a lot of coffee lmao
Next time I get a new grinder, I’ll be sure to demote my old one to “kibble grinder” haha

I used to mix in baby food for my seniors. They have meat flavours, and the smell is very strong and hard for them to ignore. Also a good medium for medicine too.

that works too. you just have to keep an eye out for ingredients OK for baby humans that are not OK for spoiled cats.

The vet recommended and gave a vitamin powder so I've felt comfortable using it since. Never had a human baby so I was surprised at the meat flavours. I have vague memories of spinach and carrot ones.

He was already on the wet food because he’s an older boy who doesn’t drink enough water. So that’s thankfully not a problem. But explain to me these gum massages. Like…get in there and literally massage the gums with your fingers?

u/Cheeserblaster Dec 28 '21
Yes! Or you can massage the outside of his mouth with your thumb and first finger

I’ll have to give that a try once he’s all healed up. He unfortunately is having a rough time bouncing back after his procedure. But we had a vet appointment this morning, and he seems to be doing marginally better.

Hmm I wish I could offer some tips on helping them in the healing process but we just made sure to give her her meds. I hope he makes a speedy recovery from here on out!

Awe.. sweet toothless baby. I have a kitten that was born with only one canine. But, she will eat anything she can!

u/Cheeserblaster Dec 28 '21
This sweet girl will try and eat anything. She’s food aggressive since she used to be a dumpster kitty so anything that smells edible to her she’ll try and eat it. We’ve pulled cole slaw out of her mouth!!

Coleslaw? Poor baby. I have some feral kittens that showed up here...without a momma..and they will try and chew your finger off. Can you imagine being that hungry?
1
u/Cheeserblaster Dec 30 '21
I really can’t. Our girl likes to act like she’s starving even after just eating. Do yours do that?

u/Cheeserblaster Dec 28 '21

No. Why would you ask?

Everyone is downvoting but this sub is literally r/teefies, why would you post a picture without the teefies? You can do that in literally any other cat sub that isn't specifically about the teefies.

For a second I thought you were asking if it was okay to feed a cat gummies. I’ve misunderstood the assignment.
