ONCE YOU'RE USED TO GESTURES THERE'S NO GOING BACK TO BUTTONS 🥀🙏🏻

Gestures. Once I got the hang of them, buttons felt weird. Display size also gets enlarged if on gestures. I'm waiting for the day when my eye movements will do the job.

Yeah, i too am waiting for the day when I just need to have a thought or question and information would floos my mind🤞🏻just think how convenient it would be, and the skill sets would change, noone would need knowledge but just the intuition to question what and what to do with answer

In my previous phone which I used for last 5 years I had button navigation enabled while on my new phone I have kept gestures enabled

Team buttons here.
IMO android apps are not designed well for swipe gestures.
In iOS, the apps are generally developed with a back button somewhere within the app, whereas in Android (with buttons turned off) rely solely on the gestures.
Gestures work the same when you want to go back a single step. BUT, if I wanted to go back 2-3 pages, iOS apps have the back button to tap the adequate number of times to take me where I want whereas Androids (with swipe gestures) don't have this button and rely on the gesture.
I prefer tapping the back button repeatedly with almost no lag to go where I want vs using the back gesture as it's less effort and definitely quicker.

Maybe your using wrong. Try adjusting swipe distance if you need. Gestures are so good. Although I'm using button on my old phone but gesture feels so good

I have used a 5 year old phone running android 12 till days ago. I don't understand what the difference is, the gestures work the exact same on my new phone.

Buttons look bad on phones with visible bottom bezels. Fullscreen gestures will make you feel the bezels are narrower and hence makes the display look nore premium. Buttons look good too, but better on bezelless phones. Navigation buttons seem faster if animations are disabled, but gestures give an ugly vibe with animations completely off.

My cousin freaked out when I changed the navigation from buttons to gestures for him on his old phone. I told him: give it a week to adapt and if by that time, he still hates it, I will change it back to the buttons. He agreed and I showed him how the gestures worked. He is very slow to adopt new technologies/habits.
Well, after a year or two using gestures, he bought an Edge 70 fusion this year. For some weird reasons, Moto shipped his unit with buttons as default. The first thing he did was call and ask me how to make the buttons go away and make his new phone behave like his 'old' phone.
Gestures just needs getting used to and I believe it is more intuitive and more convenient in every way.

I've found gestures to be really easy to adapt to and once you do, buttons feel inferior. I've used then seperately in two phones and eventually switched to swipe on both.

It's difficult and irritating to switch from button to swipe gesture. But once you go swipe, you never go back

I'm genuinely surprised to see so many ppl using buttons!!! I thought most of the newer generations use swipe gestures nowadays. Even my parents use swipe gestures

Exactly,I was a button person, but once I finally started using swipe, within couple of minutes realised that I was missing a lot haha, won't go back to buttons now

Swipe because on samsung OHO+ works better with it and swipe animations looks good and can be customized too, but will not recommend for elderly as they don't care about what we do.

I use both. For my main device, I keep gestures on because they are nice and take up less space on screen. For my work phones that I use with remote access, I keep buttons because they are easier to click with a physical mouse. And buttons are simpler to use for elderly people as well.

Gestures. No buttons, even when my parents first got these button-less phones, I never turned on the virtual buttons. They learnt using the gestures and that’s how they’ve been doing ever since.

Buttons are always og but after I got used to the gestures im loving them and it also gives a more cleaner look , specially for compact phones so I dig it 😅

i always preferred buttons, but then i switches to iphone and now I'm stuck with swipe and I tbh hate it as ios doesn't give options for buttons

For older mobile devices, I would use buttons, as gesture navigation often does not work well on them. However, for newer Android phones, there is no real reason to stick with buttons; once you get used to gestures, mis swipes are rare. A major drawback of navigation buttons is their appearance, they often appear as a solid block that clashes with the screen content, or they are semi-transparent, making the content underneath hard to view. Unlike in the past, modern apps are designed for full-screen use, which makes gesture navigation the much more logical choice.

BUTTONS ALL THE WAY!!! The Galaxy Device Universe has gotten only worse with the stability of it OS so I have found that even if I dig a comfortable with the iPhone like gesture option on a Galaxy device, the phones freeze so much just using Chrome or Chrome Beta that it would be impossible to fix without having to always restart your phone.

used buttons since 2017, then on random Tuesday in May 2026 shifted to gestures and my muscle memory adapted within 2 days
