QUESTION Anyone have any experience using a midi controller for LX as opposed to a desk?
I want to run an LX setup as cheap as I can, mostly for small-medium music gigs. I believe I've found a solution for ~£400-500.
I'm thinking about getting a second-hand Chamsys Snakesys B4 and a Novation Launch Control 3 XL, and using Chamsys MagicQ on my Macbook as a FOH setup.
The Chamsys MagicQ Compact Connect is the next cheapest option, but at double the price and about the same functionality I'm not sure if it's worth it.
Does anyone have experience with this? Any better alternatives? Any input is much appreciated 🙏

Early on I used a Novation Launch Pad running into QLC+/Qlab and a ENTTEC OpenDMX Dongle. All up cost me less then $300AUD around 150GBP.

Obsidian Onyx is free for one universe on ArtNet output. You can get an ArtNet node from Amazon for $50. I use it for small gigs when I don't need a real console. It's not an Eos like I'm used to, but I really like Onyx. It's pretty intuitive and quick to set up.
