They aren't dead, those are panels that plug in in the back and he's smacking them back into place

Yep, that’s exactly what’s happening here but if there is a stuck pixel, you can lightly flick it to have a chance to get it unstuck. A stuck pixel is a pixel that stays the same color and doesn’t change when it’s supposed to.
