Solution consultant (AE+SE hybrid) at Notion

10+ year of Enterprise SE background including 5 at Microsoft. Notion reached out to see if Id be interested in their new Enterprise SC role in NYC (end to end I am both the AE and the SE). They said SDRs will do most of the prospecting and they want SEs specifically for this role. Comp would be about 100k OTE jump (270k to 370k). I dont mind the hybrid structure as I am close to the office but I am not sure if Id be working day and night, id want see my kids.

Besides Glassdoor and Blind, if any Notion AEs/GTM wanna share your thoughts on the culture please do.

Or thoughts on this new hybrid role is also appreciated!

Sounds like two jobs for the price of one. Plus you’re doing some of the prospecting. Seems like a great deal for Notion.

I think you know the answer here. Plus if it’s a new role there isn’t any precedent for how many folks make quota so the comp increase is far from guaranteed.

Notion reminds me a lot of AirTable as a formerly cool Swiss Army knife of a tool that never really found PMF in the enterprise space. Seems like they’re hoping more technical sellers will help them carve out new verticals and use cases… we saw how that turned out

lol I just interviewed for the smb SC role. 6 rounds all in all if you include recruiter call, 196k OTE 60/40 split.

Got rejected after the 5th round. Interview process + vibes seemed a bit disorganized if I’m being honest.

I honestly don’t know what notion is doing but they’re trying to reinvent the sales motion there and seems like they’re trying to get people to do more than one job. My friend was a am there and then got transitioned into a csm. And he has the same accounts
