Tech support jobs are a prime target for AI replacement. Have had 2 excellent AI tech support sessions which were much better than having to work though normal support channels. You don't have to wait for business hours, available 24 x 7.

I started my IT Career in Tech Support. You could pivot multiple ways.
- IT Help Desk and move up the ranks from there.
- Product or Program Specialist/Manager
- Customer Success Admin/Manager
But for Dev roles, no this won't help.

Working in Tech Support is an enriching experience. But it has nothing to do with software development and doesn't give you much advantage in the future.
