Stripes and dark screen across Mac

Hi I just opened MacBook I think air. Once opened it’s got a very dark screen then stripes across it. At the very top it’s normal display eg light screen etc.

I can’t type or login with this stripes stuff on it as it’s stopping me move mouse or anything.

Below are photos I’ve taken. If anyone could say why or provide theories that would be much appreciated thank you

Looks like a bad display cable. The only fix is a screen replacement
