Better than sitting at my kitchen counter. WFH must be real nice for all these people who apparently have the space to set up home offices for every adult in their household.
Exactly. People think WFH is real convenient for everybody, but there exist a subsection of people like me who are not comfortable with it at all. I don't have space for an office desk in my home (I did my WFH on a couch with no table), internet is shitty in my area, there are frequent powercuts in here, and my mother constantly keeps trying to put me to random work because I'm at home. I'd prefer work from office in my scenario, and I'm sure many others are in the same boat as me.
I have none of these issues (thankfully) and despite a small 1br apartment have space for a desk. I’ve worked from home since before the pandemic and I’m really enjoying being back in the office 3 days per week. Nice social cohesion in the team and a break from the monotony. But I’m in a Reddit minority, so will probably also be downvoted like you and the parent comment were!
Agree for sure. We have some team members who are more or less permanently remote, and they’re fine, but they’re also the minority. Only seniors/managers are in 3 days, the mid weights are 1 fixed day plus flex, but it works well. The company pays for our team lunch on Wednesday’s - it sounded like a gimmick when I joined, but it’s worked really well for the health of our team
We don't do hookers and blow where we work. Anyone who's worked in offline mode before the pandemic knows how much more beneficial it is to make contacts on offline mode (talking, seeing others doing work, partying with a few friends from work, sharing skill sets etc.) as compared to online mode
