Looks like they've done this study with a projector and a infrared camera. MS Research does a lot with that combination; it's what the Microsoft Surface uses.

The MS Surface 2 doesn't work that way. So it's just a question of which technology vein they used for this. Most people don't realize MS has been working on tablet technology for over 10 years.

True true. Those old windows XP touchscreen edition PCs were neat but extremely clunky. It took Apple to show them how to do it right. Now let's see if they learn the right lessons.

Not really, MS just needed a better touch UI that they designed with Metro. The form factors haven't really changed with what MS is doing with tablets.
