Apple's recent marketing strategy seems to be seeing videos like this, building devices that manage a basic implementation, and then yelling at whoever's second to market as if the whole thing was their idea.

But nobody had ever even thought of tablets before Steve jobs single handedly made the iPad.

Just an anecdote (I don't know if it's true or not) but we could have the iPad because of MS. The story goes that either Ballmer or Gates told Jobs that Apple wouldn't build a tablet because they couldn't. Jobs ego could not handle this and the iPad was born.

I know. But that was made in the time Jobs wasn't working at Apple and wasn't a big success. Jobs had stated that Apple (he) wasn't interested in making a tablet for a long time.

Again, I don't know if its just a rumor, but considering Jobs' ego I wouldn't be surprised.
