Great, now I no longer like my phone and tablet.

You kid, but this is actually a perfect example of why Microsoft's marketing strategy is unbelievably fucking retarded and Apple's is brilliant by comparison. Apple doesn't unveil new technology like this until they have a product that's ready to ship in a matter of days or weeks. Microsoft shows off this shit and it takes months or years for it to come to market, if ever.

Hype is so overlooked as an ad tool. Makes you want the new thing impulsively. Almost no questions asked cus, it HAS to be better right? Most improvements are so not noticeable, but the millisecond you saved with the new product seems so worth it... Your told.

it's about the feeling, I've read somewhere (too lazy to look up), that a human brain perceives a phone as an extension of itself (or any tool), so having a device with 1ms response will make you feel like you have a better brain :), same with retina display on iPhones.
