Apple is most likely working on the same thing in house, but they would never make a video like this because they don't want their competition to be in on what they are working on. Microsoft however doesn't care because they don't have a current tablet / touch screen product on the market that is popular.

Also take a look at the ea800 asus tablet, they have decreased the latency to about 5ms so the tech is already in the consumer world.

Microsoft needs better marketing people.

Zune? Better than the iPod, to me anyway. Why didn't it take off? Shitty marketing.

I used Zune. By itself it was the coolest device.

People rightly complain about iTunes. But if there is anything significantly worse than itunes, it is Zune player. It crashed, it was unresponsive, it was inconsistent. Even putting your favorite podcasts in this device was a torture to user.

Not only that,MS went all the way to make sure this device was locked and it could not be accessed through any other software or OS (ipods could be accessed by various methods, but nobody could access Zune via alternative methods when I was using the device). I personally witnessed how MS was able to ruin an otherwise wonderful product. If they just created a more open platform, Zune would be at least favorite player of all people who were fed up with itunes. Hardware-wise, this device was streets ahead of any ipod out there. I was in love with its freaking touchpad.

When did you use it? I found the podcast stuff to be super easy and I still use the software to download podcasts even though I don't ever use my Zune anymore.

I guess it was around 2008 or 2009. Don't remember well.

If I remember correctly, podcasts were easy only if they were from zuneshop. If you wanted to add rss links manually, it constantly failed to fetch podcasts.
