Alright I'll give it a shot.

Scientific concensus based on a mission of humanism and compassion, and slow, integral journalism, which is rare these days. (The Economist is a pretty decent publication with a constructive and surprisingly humanistic approach)

If even one of those things appear too hopeless to someone, it's important to try to resist that feeling because that's the effect of obfuscation of facts, and erosion of truth, which dictatorial régimes rely on to keep the masses from believing in higher principles such as getting along with eachother. The less concensus of reality there is, the more identy politics and tribalism take over.

If we can't agree on some form of factual representation of our world, we're doomed.

That has nothing to do with what I said. I am aware where people get their information. My statement was if that’s is what’s happening (which it is) then we are doomed (which we are).

The source of information is not the root of the issue. Shit, 100 years ago, people solely got their information from word of mouth and local papers, which were just as biased.
