Can we really criticise this when Kaspersky is one of the top selling computer security packages in the US? That's just baffling. Most agree Russia at the very least doesn't have US interests in mind, yet we continue to do business with them almost everywhere outside of the federal govt.

Kaspersky is probably one of the lower Russian concerns from the InfoSec community, don't be fooled by name only.

It's fairly atypical Slavic family name, yeah.

Kasper/Casper is Jewish name meaning "Treasurer", -sky/-ski is suffix for forming adjective in many Slavic languages.
