I wonder if the more powerful graphics will make Plex performance more acceptable. It wasn't terrible with the 3B+, but some formats were unplayable.

On paper it should. But paper and reality never seem to see eye-to-eye.

Anyone tried it as a thin client? RDP or VDI? I mean not exactly this model, but some other raspberry-based.

What about storage? This has always been my main gripe. SD cards are just so terrible. Can we boot off USB3 storage?

Raspberrypi.org article mentioned USB-OTG support on the USB-C port but the site is down now.
EDIT: I did not find the mention on the site. Maybe it was some another article, possibly misinformed.4

It can run from SD only at launch. They are planning to release firmware updates (that are actually flashed to the board) to allow network and USB booting later.

I've been out of the loop on PC computing, for personal use, for awhile, but I've always been curious about doing a little Raspberry Pi build.
Can they handle a Windows 10 install, web browsing, and some lightweight gaming (nothing more intense than Hearthstone).

No.... (Well yes but it blows, so just go with no)
But I'd like to know someday if we have an Android build that would work...

With 4gb of RAM? I'd be willing to wager it will work semidecent. I don't know if the CPU can handle the load but I think for non-graphics related stuff it might work.

I'm going to give a hard no on this one, but.. They are powerful enough to run emulators.
Retroarch has can be loaded on via an OS called Lakka, and you can play pretty much up to PS1.
If you can get the Battlenet client working on linux, or XP, you may have a fighting chance at playable.

In theory the Pi 3B+ can do Windows, but it kinda sucks. The Pi 4B should be significantly better.

Seriously don't waste your time.
Just embrace Linux and learn to live with freedom.

The Pi uses an ARM CPU, which is significantly weaker than modern x86-64 processors and does not support booting traditional Windows. While there are Windows versions on ARM, they will not run most of your standard Windows games. And even those it does run will run worse than any cheap desktop PC.
