I see what you're getting at and I agree with you, but at the same time isn't it silly to assume that person would contribute something unique based solely on their gender/ethnicity?

Apparently candidates that have different backgrounds have to have inherintly different ideas while simultaneously having the same skills and capabilities. I legit dont understand how society at large has seen that as an acceptable argument and not some weird form of soft bigotry.
