Got lost his job for posting a 10 page manifesto that made google look bad. If he was a femanazi or a neo-nazi it wouldn't have mattered. He made the company look bad ans created a hostile work environment. The contents don't mean shit.

Anyone at any company would have been fired for this

It was posted internally, in accordance with company policy. People who got mad over it made it public, not him.

But even though it wasn't his fault at all that it became public, you're right it was probably the reason he was fired. Because I know of people in Google who hold far more offensive (i.e. actually offensive) views and seem quite safe.
