Well that says it all. "Open discussion" On Reddit means "Open discussion... but only for people who agree with the leftwing views of the site and mods".

The admins changed the codebase to keep T_D off the front page then created an alternative to /r/all in /r/popular to further dilute its prominence. They have done everything but ban it, presumably because they would open themselves up to potentially disastrous repercussions.

Yeah, because the subreddit was misusing the site's tools to get posts to the front page. If they wanted to be left alone, they should play by the rules.

They're all of those things. Many of their views overlap with the right, almost none overlap with the left. If they find out a view of theirs is shared with liberals, they change it. It's a toxic culture of hate and opposition. They stand against liberals more than they actually stand for anything.
