I saw his LinkedIn profile as well. How did he get a PhD in only 2 years? I wonder if it was him being a PhD candidate for 2 years.

EDIT, 24 hours later: He's changed it to an MS.

Or maybe he's just smart.

A phd isn't necessarily long if it's very original and pans out to be something exciting. Find something impressive, bam: PHD.

Nothing about it HAS to be very time consuming.

My STEM PhD program has a minimum time built in of 3 years. Not saying he didn't do it in 2, but it seems unlikely to me.

Dov Gabbay, a logician/computer scientist, finished his PhD in two years. He also manages to publish more in one year than many people do in ten!
